Terms & Conditions of Hire

VW Campervan Insurance

Drivers:
• Must be aged between 23-70
• Must have had a valid UK licence for 2 years
• Must provide (before the day of hire) both parts of their driving licence (plastic and paper copy)
• Must provide (before the day of hire) 2 forms of ID, one with a photo, i.e. passport and utility bill with proof of address
• Additional drivers must also provide both parts of their driving licence, plastic and paper copy (before the day of hire)
• Must not have more than 2 speeding fines in the last 2 years

Excess:
The hirer is responsible for a standard excess of £500 in case of accidental damage, fire, theft or third party damage to the VW Campervan. The hirer is fully liable for any windscreen or tyre damage.

Fines and Liability:
Drivers are responsible for any legal penalties e.g. parking fines, speeding tickets, incurred during the holiday hire period.

Additional costs:
• Will apply under the following circumstances
• Additional drivers
• Driver with motoring convictions
• Non UK licence
• Travel to Ireland or Europe
• (These eventualities must be discussed at time of booking)

Security bond:
£500 will be taken at the time of hire. This will be in the form of £100 cash, £400 cheque or postal order to be cashed to clear in advance of the hire period. This will be refunded within 7 working days of the end of holiday hire period so long as the terms of the rental are met.

These terms are:
• Campervan bus returned with a full tank of petrol
• Bus is clean and in the same condition as when rented out
• The toilet must be emptied and cleaned
• Cooking appliances and utensils clean for use (a cleaning charge of £12 per hour will be applied to rectify)
• The Camper bus must be returned within the stated time, if not a late charge of £50 per hour will apply. It would be unfair to be late for the next hirer. Please note that the bus is not insured outside the contract of hire.

Payment and Cancellation:
All prices include VAT at the standard rate. A non-refundable deposit of £150 is required at the time of booking. The balance is due 6 weeks prior to holiday hire start date, or the full amount if within 6 weeks. For cancellations up to 4 weeks before the rental date a 50% refund will be given. No refund will be given if cancelled within 2 weeks of rental date.
Please make sure you have appropriate holiday insurance to cover any eventualities. There will be no refund in the event of early return e.g. illness, accident, theft. In the unlikely event of breakdown where the bus cannot be repaired for use, every effort will be made to provide a similar bus. We cannot accept responsibility for missed functions due to breakdown.
Dub Tails cannot be held responsible for adverse weather conditions affecting any hire.

Rental restrictions:
• No one-way rentals
• No smoking within the Camper bus
• Pets by prior arrangement, to be discussed at booking
• The number of passengers is limited to the capacity of the bus stated
• Unleaded fuel only

Using the bus:

The hirer:
• must not leave keys in the ignition or on the CD fascia in view when not attended to prevent theft
• will be responsible for loss of keys
• will be responsible for using the correct fuel (unleaded petrol) and will incur any costs to rectify
• is responsible for not driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs according to the law
• must not drive the bus off public roads
• must not submerge the bus in (salt) water
• Theft of the bus or equipment must be reported to the police and Dub Tails within 24 hours.

Maintenance:
Hirer will be responsible for regular oil and water checks, and stop and react to any dash warning lights. Hirer must provide receipts for any repairs incurred.
